About Dr. Moynihan

Kelly Moynihan began his career with Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil in 1984. Since 1990, he has worked full-time in the environmental (and later environmental, social and health) field, rising to become the Corporation's executive-level Senior Environmental, Regulatory & Socioeconomic Consultant in the five years prior to his retirement in late 2016. 

During his 33 year career, Dr. Moynihan provided a diverse range of specialized environmental, socioeconomic and health planning and technical support/consulting services to ExxonMobil's business lines around the world; he has performed work in 25 countries, spanning all of the continents except for Antartica. 

Kelly represented Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil on a number of industry trade associations and committees, provided input to multi-lateral financing institutions regarding their evolving environmental and social responsibility frameworks, has been an invited speaker at international conferences and workshops, and authored or edited numerous internal and external technical documents covering the breadth of environmental & social topics. He is also an accomplished instructor, able to effectively teach individuals at all levels of technical knowledge/experience. 

In February 2017, Dr. Moynihan established M2L9 Environmental and Social Consulting LLC, a firm offering environmental & social consulting services aimed at being "real world" in their nature and intent.

Kelly Moynihan is one of the original members of the Association of the Chemical Profession in Alberta (ACPA) and is accredited as a Professional Chemist.
